Ullna GC

Hi guys, some courses make you feel that you will have a perfect golf day already when you drive down the avenue to the club house. You mustn‘t score perfectly but the course makes you understand why we love the game so much. Ullna G&LC, some 25 Minutes outside Stockholm, is such a course. To start with a minus point: No driving range, just a net for warming up and an OK pitching area. Several good putting greens at the practicing site as well as close to tee 1. Booking and service team courteous and friendly. At the heart of Ullna is - of course - the course itself, redesigned by the Nicklaus company in 2011-2013. It is wonderfully embedded on the riverbank of lake Ullnasjö which comes into play at several holes (see fotos). This is no bombing site for longhitters - you have to be precise. And even then you need a good wedge play to score well. Front 9 appear a bit as a warm-up - back nine are tougher. Greens and foregreens are sometimes really hard (= fast and undulated, e g at the 10), but not unfair. To sum it up: One of the best courses I ever played. Restaurant and Half Way House nice and top quality. Last, but not least: Many thanks to my club member guides Anthony, Anna and Vincent who did their best to save me some strokes …😁. Coming back rating 12/10 (sic!). Cheers!

Ullna is a challenging course, certainly for me, but stunningly beautiful at the same time. I donated quite a few balls to the course, but the beauty of the place dulled the pain of the loss. A true Scandinavian gem and a beautiful experience.

What a beautiful place this is. The good course hugs the edge of a huge lake with some stunning vistas while walking the course. Cosy clubhouse too

What an amazing track! A true Jack Nicholas designed course with swooping bunkers and greens that you must hit! Beautiful course with scenic views! A must play!
